Cancellation and refunds
Cancellations must be received in writing to asswa2012@aceconferences.co.za and will be accepted up until 1 August 2012.  Refunds will be executed post conference less a 25% administration fee. Cancellations received after 1 August 2012 cannot be accepted, however, transfer of registration to another person will be accepted and must be communicated to the Secretariat in writing to asswa2012@aceconferences.co.za

Climate
Mpumalanga is a province divided into two halves, the Highveld escarpment and the Lowveld plains. The west side of Mpumalanga, on the Highveld, has extreme temperatures, it is hotter, drier and colder than the rest of the province. The Lowveld experiences a rainy summer season, with hot days and warm nights. Winters are dry, with warm days and chilly nights. 
CPD accreditation
The Conference will be CPD accredited and all delegates in attendance will receive a CPD/Attendance certificate.  

Currency / exchange rates
South African currency works on the decimal system with one Rand equalling 100 cents.

Electricity and plugs
The electricity supply in South Africa is 220/230 volts, AC 50Hz.  It would be in your interest to purchase an International plug converter to enable your plugs to be compatible with the South African plug points.  The plugs used in South Africa are standard round pin, 3 point, 15amp plug.  
Insurance
Registration fees do not include personal travel or health insurance of any kind.  It is strongly recommended that when registering for the Conference and booking your travel, that travel and health insurance policies be taken out.  The Organising Committee and the Conference Secretariat do not take responsibility for any delegates failing to insure themselves.  The Organising Committee and Conference Secretariat also accept no liability for personal injuries, or for loss or damage to property belonging to Conference delegates, either during, or as a result of the Conference, please check the validity and upgrading of your own insurance for this purpose before leaving for South Africa.  

International travel to South Africa
There are some countries that do not require a visa for entry into South Africa.  If you are unsure whether you need to apply for a visa and to find out the various requirements for applying, please visit http://www.dfa.gov.za/foreign/sa_abroad/index.htm to see the list of South African offices abroad.  You can also find further information on visa requirements on the South African Department of Home Affairs website http://www.home-affairs.gov.za/visa_detail.asp. 

Please note that government regulations do change from time to time so please enquire timeously with regards to visa applications.  

Letter of invitation
The Conference Secretariat will send a letter of invitation to delegates who request this service, please note that the letter of invitation DOES NOT obligate the Conference Organising Committee or the Conference Secretariat to provide any financial support to attend the Conference. Letters of invitation will not be issued unless we are in receipt of your registration form and payment of registration fees.  
Malaria 
Malaria is endemic in the lowveld area of Mpumalanga (including Kruger National Park and and private game reserves).  It is advised that delegates consult a health-care professional for the latest advice on malaria prophylaxis as it changes regularly.

Name badges

Each delegate will receive a name badge when registering at the Conference, please ensure that you wear your name badge when attending any of the Conference sessions and the social functions.  Only delegates wearing their name badges will be admitted to the sessions, social functions and catering areas.

Official language of the Conference and Translation
The official language of the Conference is English, however, the Organising Committee will endeavour to provide French translation.

The time zone for South Africa is: South Africa’s GMT +2 hours
Transport/Airport shuttles
There will be transport departing from OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) on the 14th October 2012 at 10h00, returning to OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) on the 17th October 2012 (leaving the conference venue at 10h00).  Please note that this is a 5 hour trip so please allow sufficient time when booking flights as the bus will depart promptly at above times.
